Cherie Garrett

–

Beaver, Utah

Cherie “Pie” Garrett, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026, at the age of 82. She was born on April 23, 1944, in Minersville, Utah, to Newell and Theo Marshall. Pie is now reunited with her eternal companion, Bill “Wonka” Garrett, whom she deeply loved and devoted her life to. Together they built a beautiful life centered around faith, hard work, and family.

Pie was a woman who quietly took care of everyone around her. She showed her love through constant acts of service—making her famous “better than bubblegum” French toast, tending to the needs of others before her own, and creating a home where everyone felt welcomed, cared for, and loved. She had a gift for making ordinary moments feel special.

From a young age, Pie learned the value of hard work while growing up on the family farm. She loved working alongside her dad and brothers, helping drive the water truck, feed cattle, and care for the land. That strong work ethic stayed with her throughout her entire life. Whether she was gardening, baking, quilting, painting, caring for her chickens, or keeping her yard beautiful, Pie found joy in staying busy and caring for the things and people she loved.

She was a devoted mother to four daughters, Kris, Marci, Heidi and Angie whom she loved beyond measure and treasured every moment spent with them.

Her greatest joy was her family. Pie adored her 19 grandchildren and was their biggest supporter. She rarely missed a game, performance, or activity, though she was often too nervous to watch directly, choosing instead to keep score carefully in a notebook nearby. Her love continued to grow with the addition of 44 great-grandchildren, whom she cherished dearly and happily babysat whenever she could.

Pie’s faith in the gospel was a cornerstone of her life. She faithfully served in many church and temple callings throughout the years and found great joy in serving others. She especially treasured Sunday dinners, family gatherings, vacations, and every moment spent surrounded by those she loved most.

Above all else, Pie loved her husband, Bill. Their love and devotion to one another was evident to everyone who knew them. They were truly inseparable.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bill Garrett, daughter Kristine Fowles (David, living), her grandsons Jessie William Fowles and Austin Jack Blackner.

She is survived by her daughters Marci Faile, Heidi (Scott) Eyre and Angie (Travis) Blackner; along with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she adored.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at 12:00 pm at the Minersville LDS Church. A viewing will be held earlier from 10:00-11:30 am. Interment will follow at Minersville Cemetery.
