Marguerite "Margie" Neilson Mecham, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2010 at the Milford Valley Memorial Hospital where she had resided for the past 3 years. She was born May 28, 1922 in New Harmony, Utah to James Deitrich & Emily "Emma" Adelia Grant Neilson. She married Max LaThell Mecham on March 22, 1952. He preceded her in death on March 6, 1978. They are the parents of Max Wain. Margie was well known as an accomplished pianist, because she played "by ear" she was the undisputed favorite of many soloists for whom she transposed, arranged and accompanied. Although it's impossible to count the graduations, dances, weddings, funerals and programs she played for, we do know she did so willingly and with a love for those who heard her. Margies family expresses their sincere love and gratitude to each and every member of the staff who served in any capacity at the Milford Valley Hospital. She is survived by her younger brother James Dayle (Varlyn) Neilson of New Harmony, Utah, Wain (Patti) Mecham of Taylorsville, Utah, Paul (Peggy) Mecham of Morgan, Utah and Lois Farney of Cedar City, Utah. She has 13 grandchildren and 13 great, grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and their children who loved and were loved by "auntie/aunt Margie". Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 12:00 p.m., at the Milford LDS 1st Ward Chapel. Family & friends may pay their respects on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at the Church in Milford from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. Interment will be in the Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary in Beaver.
