Marilyn Virginia Rice Jake, age 75, passed away October 8, 2012 in St. George, Utah. She was born June 22, 1937 to Kado Mike and Yetta Rice in Moccasin, Arizona. She was married to John Jake, Sr. on April 5, 1963 in St. George, Utah.Marilyn was a 1979 graduate of Cedar High School, and a graduate of nursing school at the University of Utah. She worked as an Airline Starter, a tutor at SUU, and as a Teachers Aid at North Elementary. She was a member of the LDS Church and had served as a Relief Society President and worked in the Primary. She loved sports, especially football. She was an avid Cedar High Redmen fan and a fan of the SUU T-Birds. Marilyn also enjoyed sewing, working, cooking, and spending time with her grandkids. She is survived by her children John Jake Jr. of Cedar City, UT; Velda Jane Jake of Cedar City, UT; and Michael J. Jake (Grace Kelly) of Enoch, UT; brother Bryan Jake of Cedar City, UT; sisters Dorlyna Bear of Wyoming and Althea Searwop (Bobby) of Fort Duchesne, UT; 6 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother Wilber Jake, and brother-in-law Garth Bear.Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Iron Mission Church (530 E 100 N) in Cedar City, UT. A viewing will beheld on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Cedar BandPauiteBuilding ( 600 N 100 E) in Cedar City.
